Power Point

Introduced Power Point today by having the interns follow me through a PP on The 5things I like to do in my spare time. The interns were then given time to start there PP on their 5 things. This lesson should get our team ready for our Open house PP"S that we are going to start at the end of next week.

2nd Rotation

Started 2nd Rotation this week! We reviewed the importance of listening, asking questions as well as taking your time when learning a new job. It has been challenging to adjust jobs to the new interns.

We have had some normal reactions to changing rotations from AMC staff. Like, why do they have to change, We feel like we are starting all over again. My answer is always, this is a training program therefore the interns need to be exposed to as many job skills an tasks as possible.

Personal Commercial

Using the skills from our product commercials and now using them to make up personal commercials. I had the interns focus on knowing their product (themselves) in order to make them comfortable when talking about themselves in an interview. This will be an on going lesson eventually ending in an 90 second commercial about themselves before they head out to do actually job interviews in the community.

New Job

The Marketing department is looking to implement a new job site with my interns that involves sanitizing the new hospital guide books. The guide books are a flip book with around 15 pages that will need to be sanitized when a patient is dismissed. This job will be added to our current EVS replenisher job as an additional task, which will greatly add to the difficulty and the skills gained while helping the hospital. I love it when people come to me with new jobs!

Product Commercials

The Interns worked on a lesson today where they had to sale a product. They could make up any product they wanted but they had to have a picture and a commercial that went along with it. I made sure that they focused on the positives of their product, that's how you sale! This is how I start my interviewing unit. I am excited to see the results.

Body Language

Reviewed the importance of body language today with the Interns.  In the past few days we have had reports from managers that some of our interns have looked mad or are coming off like they are upset on the job.

First Blog

Interns worked on writing a letter to the site managers asking for the day off on 11/3 due to a Butler Tech all staff day. I reminded the interns to put the date at the top of any request that they turn in to their Boss. Interns also turned in their recommendations for the Nov. Star award.
